I noticed that XP reconfigured Installshield X Express in some way upon completing the upgrade to XP SP2 -- it actually took a while to complete this step after first booting up to XP SP2.

Accordingly, I was just wondering if there is anything we need to be aware of in terms of significant changes to the Windows Installer and how such changes might potentially impact existing Express projects.

Interesting that you were noticing a change in behavior after instgalling Windows XP SP2. I have been having problems installing Pinnacle Studio 9 with a patch update. As a result I have uninstalled and re-installed it a number of times. Since installing Windows XP SP2 (Final Release), The patch file won't run. It is InstallShield Setup Launcher 7.01.100.1248. After double-clicking on the patch file, it churns for about 10-15 seconds and stops with no display or error message. In my temp directory I found ISPackFiles.ini and 28.tmp\Disk1\data1.cab and data1.hdr.

None of the Installshield processes were left hanging.

Any ideas?
