Hello,

I'm trying to get a registry value which i need for installing a "plugin" for a already installed application.
I've got a (registry)key which i'm trying to read but i seem to fail in this.
I've tried several approches but either the VBA script runs and breaks of half way or either doesn't start at all.

I can not use the Interaction.GetSetting because this only allowes access to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER. The key i need is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.

I'm Using VBA since i'm running InstallShield X Express and don't have the installshield shell (i think).

You can use RegRead Method (http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/script56/html/wsmthregread.asp) in VBScript instead.

Thx,

i had found it also in the forum on another spot. I've tried it but it failed.
The main problem was problem was although that i used

Dim mystr As String

fails. It should be without the "As String" (it seems this way anyway).
I've got it working now. Up to the next problem..... But this time it seems copable....
