How can I enter the answers for the dialogs using InstallShield Express 3.03.?
There is no -r parameter to create a .iss file like using 2.x version.

Express 3.X uses the windows installer technology so does not support iss files. For a silent install however you can try

Setup.exe /s /v"/qb"
Setup.exe /s /v"/qn"

The first one will show a progressbar while the second won't even show that.

hi!

i have the same problem. i can't generate a response-file. the /v" ... "
option just passes along the given arguments to the windows installer engine.
but that doesn't help. how do i tell my "answers" (destination path, custom or express setup ...) the setupprogram to start a silent install???

greetings from good old germany

I'm afraid Express does not have this functionality because it deals with the Windows Installer only. The iss funtionality you seek is something that is used with InstallScript. This is what Express 2.x is based on. If you need this functionality you can try using InstallShield Developer 7 because it combines InstallScript with the Windows Installer. I suggest trying the evaluation version to see if it meets you requirements.
