View Full Version : Install a shortcut in the autostart folder

is there a simple possibility to install a shortcut for the installed application in the autostart folder? Surely, I can add a simple shortcut, but at first I must look for the path of the autostart folder in the system.

I'm talking of windows 2000, the path for this folder seems to be

1) Language dependant and
2) depends on the user logged in.

So, there are multiple checks necessary. Is there a simpler method like some particular variable?

Hi Katrin.

Take a look here!

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

You are right, it's laguage dependant!

Thank you for the tip!

But how do I read the registry in an universal installer project?

And then I have to take the result to install the shortcut. How can I do this?
