I'm encountering CRC Errors when running my install.

The message is something like this:

"CRC error: The file xyz doesn't match the file in the setup's .cab file.... media may be corrupted...."

I've seen that I can override OnMD5Error & return ERR_IGNORE, but I would rather prevent this error in the first place.

This was originally started happening when I was using InstallShield 6.3, so I upgraded to InstallShieldX, and it's still happening.

I've seen comments that deleting the media's Disk1 folder & rebuilding it helps, but I tried this, and it didn't fix it.

It seems that each time I rebuild the release, it's a different file that gives the CRC error.

This problem does seem to come and go, but now it's back, and it's very annoying to say the least.

Thanks for any help!

No I didn't understand it properly.

go to "Media" then "Releases" and create a new release, which creates a new folder under your media directory.

i.e. if you already have a release named "Release1", create a new release "Release2" and build that one.

I too did get the same CRC errors. All I did was rebuilt the release in the IDE and the error went away.
Perucho suggestion also works fine!
