View Full Version : Why are Shortcuts are validated?

I wonder why the shortcuts you can add to the project are validated when creating the MSI-file?
In my case I want to add a shortcut that points to a file on my customers network. I know the exact servername and filename.
When I am connected to their network, I can use ISX without any problems.
But, when I am not connected to the network, I am not able to build the project, because during this proces the shortcuts are validated.

Why is this and is there a way to go around this (in my opinion) unlogical validation?

Kind Regards,

Does the build stop when it encounters this error, or does it go on and then say an error was found? If the build doesn't stop as soon as this error is found, try installing your setup and see if the shortcut works.

When you create this shortcut, are you hardcoding the server name in, or pointing (somehow) to a file that is in you project that was added from this server?
