View Full Version : How to include .NET Framework?

When I Build my Basic MSI project, I received this message in the log. "ISDEV : warning -6245: One or more of the project's components contain .NET properties that require the .NET Framework. It is recommended that the release include the .NET Framework. C:\Program Files\InstallShield X\IsDev.exe\-6245".

So I opened up the Release Wizard and went to .NET framework panel selected the .NET version and selected download from the Web. Then clicked Finish from the Release Wizard and selected Rebuild the project.
But I still got the same message in the rebuild log file. How can I include the .NET framework in the build?

Hmmmm...maybe you have more than one release in your project and the release you are building does not have the framework.

You probably already saw this article, but you could try going to the Releases view as the article describes and make sure the .NET Framework Location property is correct before building.

I am having a similar problem. The .NET Framework Location is set to Download from the Web and I do have a URL in the releases tab for.

The URL is the default http://www.installengine.com/cert03/dotnetfx

What else could be causing this error? Do I need my own download site for the framework?
