I put a vb.net windows application and a vb.net web application in one installer. It works fine without inserting sql scripts. It seems IIS works fine too without inserting sql script.

For the sql servers, I turned on "batch mode", then insert my sql statement which has been proved working well in "Query Analyser". I let other options set as default.

Building works fine. When I tried to install the package, the error message box popped up with the message " There was an error running the sql server scripts, setup will now terminate".

thanks for your help

Batch mode...? Is this an Installscript project?

Hi,

If you turn off "batch mode", does it work?

Thank you,

Batch mode just let the scipts run in order. I had turn it off and the installation failed. The second time, I turned it on, installation still failed. I just have no clue how to fix it.

Does producing a log file tell you anything more?

It's odd, because I believe that in MSI projects, it tells you what failed, so you can track down the error. The batch mode thing though suggests you might be best served checking the InstallScript forum
