Hi

How does the IS_SQLSERVER_LOCAL_ONLY property work? Must it have a specific value or does it just have to exist?

I give the user two options Server (Typical) or Workstation (Minimal). For a Server install I only want the local SQL Servers and the Workstation all the SQL Servers. (OnSQLLogin - Browse)

Hi,

If you have the IS_SQLSERVER_LOCAL_ONLY property with a value, only local SQL Server will be listed in the SQL Server drop down list and the SQLBrowse dialog. If you set an empty string to that value, all SQL Servers will be listed.

I have submitted the work order #1-O4593 to document this details in a future release.

Hi

I'm not sure if it is working. Here is the code that I'm using:
if nSetupType = TYPICAL then
MsiSetProperty(ISMSI_HANDLE,"IS_SQLSERVER_LOCAL_ONLY","1");
endif;

I've tried adding the property to the Property Table (value=0) but the SQLBrowse is showing all SQL Servers on the networks.

What type of InstallShield X project are you using, InstallScript or Basic MSI?

Thank you,
