Hi, there!

I am still evaluating IS X - going into a meeting soon where we decide what to do.

One question I have is whether IS X has XML File editing for Windows (particular Windows Installer/MSI) projects. The feature list makes it look like it does. But I couldn't find this in the IDE so I'm thinking that it's only in Universal Projects.

As an aside, the feature list also cites IS X as having SQL Server configuration, but this is only for Windows projects, so it may confuse people wanting to create Universal projects.

Will the features be made more consistent across the project types?

Thanks

Ah, I see somebody was thinking the same.

Thanks

But it doesn't answer the question of whether or not basic MSI projects can change XML files?

I think it did - they can't currently (this feature applies only to Universal projects). However, it is being worked on and will be made available for a future release. Whether this future release is ISXI (Installshield 11) or a service pack, I don't know. Whether it will be for Premier or Professional projects, I don't know.
