View Full Version : newbie: How to get Office dot files in the right map??

I've a project with some Word dot files. These must be installed in the Word startup map of the user. (normally C:\Documents and Settings\User\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\StartupPath\)
The path can also be found in the [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Options\STARTUP-PATH] key.

How can i do this?

You will need to have a custom action using VB script to read the registry settings and assign it to a special folder variable in the script which can be used in the path for the dot files.

There are plenty of sample scripts around the website so you should be able to find this.

Although I will mention that there was a thread about OFFICEDIR, however, in ISE5 SP2 you cannot choose your own folder name as it isnt in the supported folder list. Still waiting for a response from ISE developers on this one.

Chandra any news?
