I am trying to learn Express using the visual basic tutorial. When I got to the New Shortcut menu item I got a dialog box saying "Browse for Shortcut Target." This wasn't mentioned in the tutorial.

Another thing is that when I finished the "Reviewing the Scan Results." According to the tutorial the wizard was supposed to launch the "Static Scanning Wizard." This did not happen. I know that I must be doing something wrong and suspect that it may be the way I downloaded the program and chose "OPEN" rather than perhaps launching an executable from the installation folder. Perhaps this is the problem though I am not sure.

I tried the other tutorial and was having difficulties with it also.
Thanks for your help.

Shortcut - browse for shortcut target, is exactly that - choose which file the shortcut will point to when installed.

As for scanning, I just live with it. Select static scanning when you have your own custom components that are referenced by your application. This will ensure that any dependencies are correctly catered for.
