:confused: I have a VB application which uses data files with extension xyz. I have the follwings for file extension setup:
ProgramID {B0C2EE01-7198-41A6-A974-AA37B56496D3}
Feature Always Install
File [INSTALLDIR]MyApp.exe
Command &Open
Argument %1
Icon c:\MyDir\Device.Ico
Icon Index 0

This works fine if I click on a file with xyz extension. My problem is when I click on the program Icon, it sends a string of 12 character length " /Open " %1, this is not what I expect, the string should be blank and no file should be opened. I expect in this case only the program be loaded. I have the following code in VB6:

If Command <> "" then
OpenFile (Command$)
endif

Why clicking on program icon does not send just a null string to avoid opening a non existing file. Any help is suggested. I did not run in this problem when I was using Express 3.03.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I believe that this might not be a problem with the file extension. Ensure that you have not specified any arguments for the shortcut in the Shortcuts view.
