View Full Version : Problems uncompressing my package

12-10-2003, 01:28 PM
I've released an MSI installation and now it's patch time. The trouble is that I can't seem to run the "Generate Patch" wizard successfully. The wizard is unable to uncompress my .msi package (original viersion). I get the following message:

"Error running C:\AInstall\...\ACEIT6.msi in Admin mode: 1603"

I have admin rights to my machine. I have admin rights to the folder where the .msi file and the various support files (cab, 409, etc.) are located, and to the destination folder for the "administrative image".

I then tried running msiexec.exe /a "...ACEIT6.msi" from the command prompt. A "install interrupted" page appears right off the bat with the message "The wizard was interrupted before ACEIT6 could be installed.

Can anyone help me create an "uncompressed" image so that I can generate a patch? What simple and obvious thing am I forgetting to do?

Update: I've narrowed it down to the script not finding InstallDriver. Here's the chunk of the log
