View Full Version : Set Permission for Programfolder

Hi There.

I've a little problem with permissions.
When I login as a guest-user on a NT machine and start the setup the function SdAskDestPath has a problem.
When I want to chose another path in c:\program or I only use browse and close the brwose-window without a change to the path I get an error-message that the path I have chosen is invalid, incomplete or write protected.

When I run that setup with admin permission again there is no error.

Ergo I must set another permission for that folder.
How must that go?

What can I do?

Thanx

e-synergy,

When using SdAskDestPath or SdAskDestPath2, the folder selected must be writable. If you want to allow the user to select a non-writable folder, use AskPath instead.

Hi DevinEllingson.

When I use AskPath I can select a non-writable folder.
But when I want to create a directory, because it does not exist, the directory will not be created.

Now I give out a message when the directory is unable to be create. In this message I give an alternative path for install.
I donĀ“t like that solution.

Is there any other trick?
