View Full Version : Source Code Control

I am constructing a automated installation build via a scripted solution. The first step in this process will be to check out the "gold code" from our MS SourceSafe (v6) server. I've reviewed the "Source Code Control at the Command Line" topic in the Advanced area of the InstallShield DevStudio help system. This works -- to a point -- I need to supply a User (Username) and Password in order to logon to my SourceSafe server. The code in the help topic does not use a Username or Password, however, the error I get back indicates I need to specify a "User". I've attempted to set a "User" and "Password" prior to calling the "Open( )" method, but I've not been successful.

How can I set the User (or Username) and Password in the objects to allow successful opering of the SourceSafe project?

I'm using the Windows Scripting Host (v5.6) and VBScript.

Thanks in advance.

I believe that they are the (optional) 2nd and 3rd parameters of the Open method.

I got this from the MSDN help topic "Visual SourceSafe 6.0 Automation":

Open ([SrcSafeIni as String], [Username as String], [Password as String])

User and UserName are are read-only properties. Password isn't even a property (which is expected).
