I have created Installscript install that includes named instance install of MSDE.

When I install on Windows 98 SE it crashed windows 98 ...

Here is what happenned:
Created Single Executable
Ran it on Windows 98
Application installed however MSDE asked to reboot
so I reboot
Discovered MSDE did not get installed
Reran setup and chose REPAIR option
it started re-installing and this time seemed to install MSDE
Rebooted
Could not find WIN.COM file ..Windows did not start

Had to restore the system

What am I missing here??

It worked fine on Windows XP. I need MSDE instance to auto start with Windows

THIS IS THE ERROR THAT I GET on Win 98 SE

Title: SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine Setup
Message: The Windows Installer on your system has been updated. You must restart your computer now before you can continue setup. After Windows restarts, please start %2 setup again.

After you reboot Windows 98 crashes
and says WIN.COM not found and stops loading at the DOS prompt.
The only thing left is to restore the computer with restore CDs.

I would appreciate input on this as this is urgent.
