IS 6.3 had an option under the Build menu called "Export Batch File". This created a file called BUILD.BAT that would perform a build.

Where is that function in DevStudio 9?

Thanks and regards.

Hi,

That functionality was purposely omitted. The command line tool iscmdbld.exe will both compile the script and build the installation. A two-step process is no longer needed.

In order to support installations that used to old batch files to build, the command line tools for compiling and building are still available.

According to InstallShield documentation, "ISBuild.exe is a shell that calls into ISCmdBld.exe".

We are running ISBuild.exe from the command line and cannot get it to compile the rul file. Is this a bug?

We realize that the workaround is to compile from the command line, but it would be nice if ISBuild compiled the rul file along with doing the build.

Thanks,
