View Full Version : Ctor.dll error

10-14-2003, 03:29 PM

I have encountered the following error during uninstall:

" Error Loading: C:\Progra~1\Common~1\Install~1\Engine\6\Intel3~1\Ctor.dll

The specified module could not be found "

This error only occurs on XP and cannot be reproduced all the time, but enough to worry about (according to the test dept.)
I am using IS 6.31.

I have read through other posts, and there does not appear to be any definitive solution.

Does someone have a solution for this seemingly lingering issue?

Thank-you in advance.

It seems that some setup files was not copied previously during installation and so, may be causing the problem during uninstalling.

Try installing the software again, and then uninstall it. Make sure, that you have administrative rights on the machine when you are installing the product.

Generally it's not the problem, unless some files are corrupt or some registry entries are missed. If you do not have the setup CD of the same product, then try removing the setup by launching the 'setup.exe', situated in the folder PROGRAMFILES\InstallShield Installation Information\ProductGUID.

Note that 'InstallShield Installation Information' is a hidden folder and ProductGUID is the GUID of the product, which is to be uninstalled.

Hope this will help addressing your issue.
