All,
We are getting the following error:

Component transfer error

Component: Player
File Group: Stingray
File: d:\data2.cab
Error: Incorrect function.

Has anybody seen this before? Anybody have any ideas on what this might be?

Thanks,
-Jason

Thanks for the help ... but this is a different error.

We are not getting an error number such as -142, but instead we are getting "Incorrect function".

Plus this error is occuring about half way through the File Transfer.

Please let me know if you are distributing some files with your setup that are not build into the media but directly placed on the CD-ROM Media. If this is the case then please proceed as follows.

Try to copy your setup on the hard drive of the target machine and then run the setup and see if the error still persists.

When the setup is run, it is first extracted in the Temp folder of the target machine and then the installation begins.

Therefore, if some files are directly placed under a folder on Media, the setup will not find those files in Temp folder and an error will be displayed. Please copy these files using the variable SRCDIR so that setup will be able to locate these files on the media and so the transferring of these files will take place.

Hope this helps!

I am not sure about that, but the odd thing is that this error occurs on some machines and not others.
