I have a problem with file associations.
All the registry keys etc are created as they should, the problem is when the installation has finished. The files still have the windows system icon, I have to reboot/log off the PC for my icon to be used. The same problem occurs when the app is removed; my icon is used even though the file association is removed. My question is, how do I force explorer to read the new registry settings without rebooting?
I have tried SendMessage( HWND_BROADCAST, WM_WININICHANGE, ... ) but it doesn't work.

Please help.

After you make some changes into the registry, it is recommended to restart the machine in order to reflect the changes made to registry.

Therefore, prompt for a reboot at the end of the installation. You can use SdFinishReboot() to reboot at the end.

Hope it helps!

Thanks for the reply.
I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that, but It turned out it's not important anymore, so forget it. :D

Thanks again.
