Hi, I have download and install Devstudio 9 just a minute ago and it looks like I still have to download :

InstallScript Objects - Legacy*
Download Size: 346 MB, < 345 minutes and 60 seconds.
This package includes a collection of InstallScript objects used by projects created with previous versions of InstallShield Professional. These objects include Crystal Reports 8, DCOM Deployment, DirectX 7.0a / 8.0 / 8.0a, MDAC 2.1 / 2.5 / 2.6, Microsoft .NET Framework 1.0, MSDE 1.0, and MSI Engine 1.2

InstallScript Objects*
Download Size: 200 MB, < 200 minutes
This package contains all the InstallScript Objects that are available in the DevStudio installation, both those selected by default and those that are optional: Access 97, BDE 5.11, Crystal Reports 8.5, DAO 3.5 / 3.6, DCOM95 1.3, DCOM Configuration, DirectX 8.1, Jet 3.51, Jet 4.0, MDAC 2.7, MFC Runtime, MS .NET Framework 1.1, MSDE 2000, MSI 2.0 Engine, NT Services, ODBC 3.51, OLE DB 2.1, RDO 2.0, VB5 Runtime, VB6 Runtime, Visual Basic Remote Server Deployment, and Windows CE. This package is recommended if you do not have access to the DevStudio source media, or need to install these Objects on a system that is running the DevStudio Standalone Build module.

Clean Build System - DevStudio*
Download Size: 16.5 MB, < 16 minutes and 30 seconds.
Maintain a clean build system using the Standalone Build module. This module contains only those elements of InstallShield DevStudio required for the build process. The module installs to a single directory and requires no registry entries. You can download the Standalone Build module now and move it to another build system.

Isn't is a bit too much to download?
I already have download 600 Mo and now I have to redownload 600 mo again?
Isn't it possible to reuse the previous merge modules from IS developer 8?

Thanks in advance.

I don't think you need "InstallScript Objects*" - it's already in the main install.

Shouldn't propose me then ;)

Agreed.

It's probably due to the fact that someone might need that package for a standalone machine as they say. But of course, there's no way to download it from the standalone machine because DevStudio 9 is not on the standalone in the first place.

Well When I tried to create a test installscript project (not MSI), all my objects are missing.
So I guess I'll need to download them after all...
So the 600 mo is only the emerged part of the iceberg.

That's strange: before you do that, could you go to in windows explorer:

C:\program files\installshield\DevStudio 9\ObjectsPro

and tell me what you see? You should be seeing a whole bunch of object folders, e.g. Access 97 Object, DAO 3.5 Object, etc.

I created both a test installscript and msi project, both had objects. However I noticed DX 9 was only available for MSI projects, was this intentinal?

Ok after check, I already have InstallShieldDevStudio9InstallScriptObjects installed after the main installation.

I still have to download the InstallShieldDevStudio9LegacyInstallScriptObjects which is the biggest of all.

Not a big deal since I have time and a good internet transfert but it can troublesome for slow connections.

I have not seen this Object yet available, has it been put back or is it simply infront of my nose and I can't see it?

It's still not available.
