Hi,

We have an installer for our product for Windows NT and Windows 2K. Now our product is supporting Windows 2000 and
Windows XP. The problem is when we are recording an installation for Win2K and running a silent install in WinXP with
same setup.iss file.
The software gets installed and then uninstalls itself. The response code is comes as -3.

I have found that the boot option is creating the problem.

e.g.
for recording in Win2K we get the following values for
boot option.

[{FE580701-F5CA-4A40-9B64-DC72D6CC3929}-SdFinishReboot-0]
Result=1
BootOption=0

if we change this to
[{FE580701-F5CA-4A40-9B64-DC72D6CC3929}-SdFinish-0]
Result=1
bOpt1=0
bOpt2=0

The installer works fine in XP, but fails in 2K.

I am using Installshield Professional 6.2.
Please let me know if anyone has faced such problem before.
If yes then what is the solution to it.
If not then you already have a workaround in case you face
this problem ;-)

Sincerely
Devraj

I have encountered this as well. The problem is the last dialog is not what the script says it should be so the setup aborts itself.

My solution was to list both dialogs in the ISS file and give both the same sequence number. This worked for IS5.53 but I haven't tested on an install written in 6.x. I'm curious to see what happens.
