View Full Version : java.exe error at end of installation

I'm working on a typical product installation running on win 2000

it doesn't contain files yet only the installer dialogs

the JVM is bundled
on version 1.4.* I'm getting a message that java.exe has caused an error and is terminated ( not sure if it's a watson error)
on version 1.3.* the installer crashes at startup with Unexpected Signal : EXCEPTION_ILLEGAL_INSTRUCTION
(whole error file as attachment)

the only versions I made it run with were 1.2.2_09 and 1.1.8_09

I also tested it with NT 4.0
1.3.* works fine
with 1.4.* the same error

i have no idea what's the problem

Do you have any Launch Browser Actions in your project? There is a known issue that if the Launch Browser Action is the last action in the wizard sequence, this kind of thing happens.

Just a wild guess.

Hi Jeff

no, haven't got any Launch Browser Action
only the Welcome, Feature, Readme,
Destination, Install Preview, Install, Install Summery and the Reboot Panel

and the Product Tree is "empty"
no actions, no Files being copied
