I have created an ISMP 5.0 installer for my app that works great on Windows, Linux, and Solaris. However, when doing a full uninstall on Solaris, it fails to uninstall one of the Product Components and one of the Product Features. This is what is written to the log file:

(Mar 14, 2003 7:36:10 AM), Uninstall.product.uninstall, com.installshield.product.service.product.PureJavaProductServiceImpl, wrn, Parent Component with UID = 954de776b1413474fe9807d2b4b10b6c of installed Component with displayName = Perl Link Comp was not found in the VPD.
(Mar 14, 2003 7:36:10 AM), Uninstall.product.uninstall, com.installshield.product.service.product.PureJavaProductServiceImpl, wrn, Parent Component with UID = cd2f44bebfb0793d717eba5788d6acae of installed Component with displayName = Alta/Malta Server was not found in the VPD.

The uninstaller does remove all of the other installed files including the _jvm and _uninst directories. This problem does not occur on the Windows and Linux platforms.

Any ideas what these errors mean?

I'm seeing the same behavior on my Solaris 8 box. Everything is fine on Windows and Linux. I believe it has happened after Adding 'Solaris Product Registry Properties' to my project, I am now getting the following message for every component in my install when attempting to uninstall..

(Mar 9, 2004 3:37:40 PM), Uninstall, com.installshield.product.service.product.PureJavaProductServiceImpl, wrn, Parent Component with UID = 1.0.0 of installed Component with displayName = solaris.path.variable was not found in the VPD.

The confusing part of this message is the fact that the UID of this component was never 1.0.0, but always 'ed15f9b402c14c7594b634ec4c45f1de'. I can upgrade this install successfully, but am unable to uninstall on Solaris 8. Any suggestions?

I have same issue on Solaris 8. The uninstaller does not remove
all installed files. But it works fine on windows and HP-UX.

And, 'Solaris Product Registry Properties' is not add to my project.

What is problem ?

Can any one help?

Did you manualy set the UID of the Root Product Bean or any of the components.

Make sure you do not f "." dots in the UID of the Root Product Bean because this is known to cause this problem

Thank you, kflowers. I reset the UID by "Generate" button and this problem occured. The UID is "52ed8285e758d44cb2cb3e7841140423" of
the Root Product Bean.
I can find "." in the UID. ???
