I have a need to "bundle" multiple products using the installer. I am using the multiplatform installer.

Here are my questions:

-- One of the products has an installable built using multiplatform installshield as well. How can I launch another setup.exe?

-- Another product is built using installshield 7.0 - can I invoke this installable as well, in the silent mode?

Any pointers, tips are highly appreciated.

Thanks,
Ravi.

You can execute third party installers with an "Exec Action" which can be used to bundle and execute a non-ISMP installer.

Note that if you do call out to another installer, you may want to catch its return code, particularly if you're running it in silent mode.

At minimum you want the master installer to control the reboot, so you don't want the exec'd setup.exe to reboot and take the machine out from the master installer.

You can pass properties to MSI-based installers to suppress reboot, then catch a return code to see if a reboot was warranted; you then set your master installer to actually do the reboot.
