2 consecutive $'s in bean property get reduced to only 1 $ when resolved through resolve string, i.e.

if the wizard bean "userinput" has a "password" property equal to "p@$$w0rd", then

$W(userinput.password)

will be resolved to

p@$w0rd.

So, if I want to allow a password with 2 consecutive $'s, I have to write a custom bean to allow that. I have to get the field property directly through access to the generic input panel or write my own panel.

I have included a sample project to illustrate this problem.

The problem exists in 4x but I thought it might have been resolved.

Have you tried using the hashed password value? For example:

-W [passwordPanelBeanId].typedPasswordHash="<hashed password>"

I have not tried the password hash. I have a work around right now, but I'll be sure to try the has approach.
