The instructions in Document ID Q105086 don't appear to be accurate when using ISX 4.

After Step 2 it reads, "Click on the new shortcut." But in ISX 4, you are instead presented with a dialog box titled, "Browse for Shortcut Target."

Does anyone have the correct steps for ISX 4?

Thanks,

Terry

Hello,

InstallShield Express 4.0 help library discusses the steps to create uninstall shortcut in the article entitled "Creating an Uninstall Shortcut".

Following is straight from Express 4.0 help that will walk you through the process of creating an uninstall shortcut.

Creating an Uninstallation Shortcut

To create a shortcut that automatically starts your application's uninstallation process:

1. Go to the Shortcuts/Folders view in the View List.

2. Right-click on Program Files folder and select New Shortcut to Preexisting File The Browse for Shortcut Target dialog appears.

3. Select [SystemFolder] from the Destination Directories list. Type msiexec.exe in the File Name field. Msiexec.exe is the command-line engine for the Windows Installer service.

4. Rename this shortcut by selecting it, pressing F2, and typing the new name.

5. In the Description property, provide a description for this shortcut.

6. In the Arguments field, enter /x followed by a space and the Windows Installer property [ProductCode]. The /x argument instructs the Windows Installer service to uninstall the product referenced by the product code.

7. In the Icon File property, enter the fully qualified path or browse to the file containing the icon you want to use for your uninstallation shortcut.

8. In the Feature property, select the feature with which you want this shortcut to be associated. Preferably, this shortcut would always be installed and should, therefore, be associated with the feature Always Install.
