Are you using the BDE merge module? If so:

1. Create a new project
2. Go to Redistributables View
3. Select the BDE module

Does this launch a Wizard?
Right click on the BDE module and look at the right click menu. Is "Change Object Settings" option enabled?

If the answer is "no" to both questions, do the following:

1. Launch Add/Remove Program (ARP)
2. Uninstall the BDE Merge Module. Delete the msm (or move it) so that Express can't see it (in case the BDE module doesn't show in ARP).
3. Select InstallShield Express in ARP
4. Press the "Change" button
5. Select the "Modify" option and press Next
6. On the resulting dialog, enable the feature corresponding to your version of BDE
7. Complete the setup
8. Launch Express and create a new project
9. Go to "Redistributables" View and select the BDE module

This SHOULD launch the wizard.

If this works you are ready to go. Open your project and reconfigure the BDE module using the wizard. Building SHOULD get rid of the build error.

Since you are using C++ Builder 6, it most probably already has a BDE merge module.

1. Do a search on your machine for BDE*.msm (should find one in the "Borland" folder.
2. Verify that there is an exe file in the same directory
3. Launch Express
4. On the main menu go to Tools->Options->File Locations->Merge Module Locations
5. Press Browse and borwse to the location of the BDE msm file
6. Close the dialog
7. Create a new project and go to Redistributables View

Now, when you select the BDE module does it launch the BDE Wizard?
