I am now trying Express 4, and there was the same problem in the last version. In the files tree node, I do show and then Global Assembly Cache Folder. Then I drag those files in. It compiles no problems. Then I go and install it on the target machine and it always copies those files to the root directory to the install path. They never get copied into C:\Windows\Assembly.

Are the files you are adding valid .NET assembly files?
Look at the file's properties and see if the "Scan at Build" property is set to "Dependencies and Properties".
Is the .NET Framework installed on the target machine?
Are you distributing the .NET Framework with your setup?

Chandima,

That fixed it so long as the scan at build property is set. Thanks for your help.
