View Full Version : GPF in installation with BDE

I have been having the same problem with Isx Express Pro causing a stack
fault in KERNEL32.DLL after my extension is called. This only seems to
happen when the 32-bit BDE is being installed.

The extension I am using is written in Delphi 2.0 and is exactly the
same as the example code given in the Knowledge Base (I cannot remember
the article number).

Are there some specific project options I should be setting?

Thanks for your help.

Hello Stefan.
Thank you for your prompt reply.
I have some more info:
This GPF occurs in a specific project with a specific setup.rul file (if I
replace the setup.rul file with a different setup.rul file it doesn't
occurs).
When I get the GPF, on the scripts screen there is an "endif" statement
above the box that the project wizard creates (the one with the big IS).
What I mean is that it looks like that screen has began to scroll down and
some kind of a specific text caused the GPF.
If you want I can send you my setup.rul file.
I would like to add that there are 2 rul files in this project (some of our
functions are shared with another project so we put them in a shared file).
I installed MP2 2 weeks ago so I'm using build 151.

I hope these details will help solving this problem.
Thanks again,

Yuval Yelin

Can you email me the RUL file?

Guys,

Check out the thread I started on 8/12/98 titled "InstallShield v5.1
(MP2) IDE crashes". Someone discovered that /* and */ comments can cause the
crash. I removed all /* and */ comments and I no longer have the problem.
