I am getting a dialog box with the error "Server Not Found" When trying to logon a local user. This error only occurs on machines that are not part of a domain. For machines that are part of the domain, sending in LOCALCOMPNAME\username works perfectly fine. But for machines that only have the LOCALCOMPNAME as a container for user, I get the "server not found" error. Why is SdLogonUserInformation even looking for a server???

I have had an open case with Macrovision support for 2 months and they have been totally useless in trying to identify the cause of the problem. They pointed me to a 3rd party set of dialogs I could purchase and use successfully. But trying to figure out why their own SDLogonUserInformation dialog fails they just tell me "We don't have access to the source code".
If I try to use the Browse buttons on their dialog, the entire installation just crashes immediately. If anyone has found a work around, I'd love to know. Last edited by michaellevy : 11-21-2006 at 06:33 PM. Reason: typo |
