Setup failed to launch installation engine

"Setup failed to launch installation engine"
    "Class not registered."

This message appears after my install has finished and the machine (WinNT4)
is starting Windows after a reboot.

The software appears to have been installed correctly, everything seems to
be working, but I would like to know why this message dialog keeps appearing
    after a re-boot.

I've used task manager, and I can see a Setup.exe running. If I click OK on
the error dialog, the Setup.exe disappears from the Task list.

Also, there is no IE installed on this box, I have read about installing IE5
to get rid of the message, but this isn't really a practical solution.

Anyone seen this before? or have a solution?

This problem occurs because IKernel.exe(setup engine) is not registered.

Generally the setup engine is registered automatically which means that
either your file is corrupted or damaged or missing or not properly
registered. So try to use new IKernel.exe or use new setup.

    Hi dave,

Cause and Workaround: You may receive this message if you are installing a
    program that uses
InstallShield 6 and you do not have installation access rights.

To resolve this issue, restart your computer, log on as the administrator,
    and then try installing again.
