    Unhappy multiple Msiexec.exe's

When I run the setup 2 msiexec.exe start up. The installation hangs until I do an end process for one of them, only one of them can be closed, the other gives an access denied message.
When one of them is closed then the installation continues until it reaches the transfer data part. Then another msiexec.exe starts. If you stop one of them then nothing happens and the other one won't let you close it down. Installation freezes and the cancel button doesn't work.

I know the setup.rul is fine and everything else works, I think it just doesn't like me. I'm running and building it on windows 2000 server.

i'm having a similar experience, also on a win2k server. seems i can get the installation of ISD7 almost to the end - where it removes backup files - and then it just stalls. nothing will work until i kill one of the msiexec processes. i tried killing IDriver.exe but i'm not sure what that does.

after this, ISD7 seems to be installed and working, but when i applied the 7.02 patch, the installations i built stopped working.

can't get the uninstall process to work correctly either...

yeah, all my problems started when I installed the patch.

I lost my whole project a week ago, fortunately I had a back up (although it was a week old). InstallShield decided to just wipe it off my hard drive, there wasn't a trace of it left.

It's getting incredibly annoying since I've wasted a week getting back to where I was and now I can't even test it to see if it's working.
