registry entries (value not set) in default

    Hello,

I am entering some values in the registry in my install shield setup. In
the IDE, the 'Default' string value for many of my entries is '(value not
set)' which is as I want it. But when the registry is updated during the
installation, all those '(value not set)' fields are replaced by empty
strings. Why does this happen and how can I fix it to make sure that
'(value not set)' is in the registry after the installation is run?

    Sincerely,
    Peter

I'd like to know the answer as well, since my install does the same thing.
I'm creating several registry keys that should not have a default value, but
when the install completes some keys have a default value of an empty string.
It seems to be somewhat random, depending on the OS.

    Chris,

The tech support guys at InstallShield said it is a bug that will soon be
fixed. In the meantime, the only workaround is to put in the correct
    registry entries after the installation.
