    URL shortcut

    How can I create URL shortcuts to my project? I install some web pages,
    configure IIS, and I wuold like to have a link in the favorites folder to
    http://localhost/something.

    But, when I try to do this, during the validation I get an errror (or a
    warning) that I shouldn't write directly to the users folder...

    Any ideas?

    I am trying to do the same thing with a VBScript custom action.

    Can you provide the code you are using to add the webpages and configure IIS?

    You can simply create a .url file, place it in a component as a key file
    then from 'Shortcuts', you can right click, select [FavoritesFolder]
    then create a shortcut under it. You also need to specify an icon.

    A .url is simply a text file with the URL. Here's an example of one:
    [InternetShortcut]
    URL=http://www.installshield.com/
