Running IsCmdBld.exe from Visual Build never completes

I have seen symptoms like this when no valid license for InstallShield.

Is there a restriction like this for IS12 beta ?

It could be. Our License protection dialog is put up during a command line build (Note this only will happened during evaluation periods -- which includes the beta). I assume this is what is causing the problem, running from Visual Build.

I am going to see if I can get a limited beta of our stand alone build issued, which would solve this problem.

You might be able to do a trick like look for the window handle of the hidden window and send it a control click. Perhaps visual build could be configured to show the window to make it easier.

This is not a big issue for beta testing.

I just wanted update my Visual Build script to see if I could get the automation interface and the installation builds to work.

The automation interface worked fine, and I could build merge modules with no problems. The only problem I had was the license protection dialog for the installation builds, which I then executed manually.
