My setup installs a file called "whatever.fix". The users must edit this file to properly configure my app to run. When the user edits the file, then the installer automatically runs and "repairs" the file back to its original contents. Thus my users are unable to change this file without the installer changing it back.

How do I tell the installer to NOT repair this file when edited by user?

Please do not refer me to how MSI works and is supposed to self-repair. I understand that. However, there must be a way to specify that certain file types or certain files will be edited by user or even deleted by user and should not be repaired. Ex. Readme.txt, Install.log, and so on are not repaired.
