It appears that during a rollback our product does not remove new XML files installed in the package. I will be submitting this to development as a product bug. If the XML file exists on the system, and the file has been updated, the rollback should return the file to its pre-install state.
I will update you shortly with the associated work order.

So why doesn't rollback clean up the file, why does it become a system file, and why does it lose its icon?

I reproduced the problem on another machine, But..
Install once, gets an error I am debugging and rolls back. Leaving srvconf.xml. Why doesn't rollback clean up this file?
Also, in Explorer, the C:\Program Files\...\srvconf.xml file loses its "XML Document" icon. Other .xml files have their icon.
When I delete C:\Program Files\..\srvconf.xml I get a "Confirm File Delete" dialog - "The file 'srvconf.xml' is a system file."
Then if without cleaning up any files, etc., if I install again, I get Error 27519.
If I delete C:\Program Files\...\srvconf.xml first, it installs and gets to the error I am debugging.
So why doesn't rollback clean up the file, why does it become a system file, and why does it lose its icon?

Please let me know if this is reproducible on multiple machines. I suspect the behavior is related to a previous installation that was not completely removed from the target machine.

What could Error 27519 mean? An InstallShield.com search did not match any documents.
