    Arrow patches / upgrades / service packs

    Hi, hope someone will help with my prob...

    Need to do a patch or upgrade but haven't a clue on how to do this. Need some guidence.

    Is it possible to create a total new install to update an already installed app without it being put on the Add/Remove Programs menu? the aim of this is to be a type of service pack. when you uninstall the app it must uninstall the sp along with it automatically.

    If you aren't breaking any Minor Upgrade rules (ie.. removing components, key files, etc..) then just do a minor upgrade. It doesn't put another entry in add/remove.

    Either a minor or a major upgrade will do. A correctly exectued major upgrade will leave only one entry in add/remove programs.

    minor upgrade installs

    But a minor upgrade will install the program if it is not already on the target. How do you prevent that?
