Thread: InstallShield Professional 7 Service Pack 1 is Now Available

I have IS 7.0 Professional installed. Whenever I check for online updates through the Online/Check for Updates it tells me none are available. Could this be because I am behind a firewall? Can I set my proxy information somewhere?

Or, maybe is there some web site that will allow me to manually download upgrades?

    Thanks

    Merry Christmas

I just installed the 7.01 update to InstallShield Professional, and now any packages that I rebuild or create come up using the IS debugger. I ran some previous installation packages and they still work normally. Is there some new option that I am not aware of that allows you to debug package installations?

Also, with the new package functionality, does InstallShield still recommend using the -deleter flag when using packages, or can I remove that functionality?

    Thanks,

    Stephen

I think this is related to the -deleter flag. Unfortunately it interprets that as a -d for debug

I hope InstallShield can provide more info about whether deleter is possible.

I'm starting a new thread on this one.

    Thumbs down

I must say that I'm not that impressed with the new SP for IS Pro7. I've had alot of success with IS Pro 6.x and wanted to move to 7 for the patch capabilities. I've wasted a couple of days now trying to track down all the problems it has introduced.

I'm reverting back to 7.00, and hopefully that won't bite me too. Otherwise, I'm sticking to 6.x and running repairs...ugh...

Is there any further documentation on Update functionality, the help files are pretty light on the subject.
    Thanks

    Robert
