    next dialog

    Hi,

How do I insert a dialog (in the sequence editor) into a sequence of next dialogs?

I have inserted a new dialog and changed it's back and next button behaviours to point to the appropriate next dialogs either side of where I want to place the new dialog.

btw, is it just me or do others have issues with the usability of Dev8 ?

    regards,
    Mark.

Figured it out. It's the previous dialogs next behaviour that determines whether or not the dialog is part of the next sequence.

Why can't we just drag and drop dialogs and the next/back behaviours get updated accordingly?

When you create a new dialog, you should get prompted with a wizard that allows you to sequence the new dialog graphically instead of having to author the next and back buttons.

I have created Work Order 1-BLVP5 asking that this wizard's functionality be made available for dialogs that already exist in the project. Do you think this would have been helpful?

    next dialog

Hi David and thanks for responding.

I did see the placement dialog within the wizard. But assumed that I could also change just as easily once in the sequence editor.

In answer, why not simply use the right click functionality already present on the main nodes of a sequence. This would then allow the following: the dialog can be moved up or down within a sequence (even out of a next sequence - or in), inserting a new dialog or removing an existing one. And then the dialog next/back button behaviour can be updated as required 'automatically'.

    regards,
    mark.
