I am trying to use InstallShield's merge module to include MSDE 2000 in a setup project. When I select Typical for the intallation then I am getting error which says there is not enough space for the installation. Am I doing somethng wrong?
If I select Custom installation then the project works just fine.

How much free space is available on the C drive (and any other drives)? Please ensure you clear all Temp folders, and that no other applications are running when you attempt to install your setup.

I am running it on a fresh copy of Windows ME in 20gb disk free space and this is the first instalaltion

Are you checking for available disk space? If so, what function are you using?

I've seen this problem when I used GetDiskSpaceEx(). It only has a 2GB size limit, go figure...

I am not using any function at all. I actually don't use the Install Script at all in order to create the setup appliation.

I hae tested the setup doing this:

I create a new setup project to install notepad and I also add the MSDE 2000 merge module.

When I choose the Typical setup and Custom as well I get this error message

This seems to be a problem with 7.02 and the set of MSDE2000 merge modules. I managed to get it working using 7.03 and with the MSDE 2000 object from InstallShield .

I upgraded Developer to version 7.03 and downloaded the MSDE 2000 object using the update service.

There is a knowledge base article on this new object - Q106295 at

Note: The MSDE 2000 Object only works with a 7.03 web download

Good Luck!

I am using the Developer 7.03 with the InstallShield's MSDE2000 merge module downloaded from InstallShield's site
