Firstly, I build my project which completes with no errors and no warnings.
But during setup if I select Custom components and then select Next, I get
an Internal Error 2235.
What is Error 2235 and what could cause such an error ???

ANY help would be appreciated ...
Simon.

The necessary literature on Microsofts WindowsInstaller technology can be
accessed through a URL in our Knowledge Base Article entitled
Q103227 (47)--- INFO: Where Can I Get the Windows Installer SDK?
http://www.microsoft.com/msdownload/PLATFORMSDK/WININST.HTM

The error you are getting stems from having an ambiguos or missing column.
Database: [2]. Column '[3]' not present or ambiguous in SQL query: [4]

All of these issues are fully dealt with in the Windows Installer SDK though

I have tried to add a custom action dll that requires parameters, using the
new feature in ISWI 1.50. I have added it to a test project and filled in
all of the appropriate information in the custom action wizard. I to have
the same error occurring at runtime when the custom action is encountered in
the sequence.

I kept working with this test project for a while, trying to get it working.
Things that I tried were moving the CA around in the sequence, reworking the
parameter list, etc. After several tries, the error 2235 went away although
the CA passing of arguments didn't appear to work. Eventually, after
repeated attempts to get this new feature working, the install that ISWI
1.50 produced started behaving bizarrely, whereas it would put up the first
small dialog indicating the install was starting, flashing by and the
completed dialog would popup. It was the simplest of test projects, all
default, one feature, one component, one file and this test CA

I then started over, identically to the first try. I attempted to reproduce
the original problem. The funny thing is, the install behaved well with the
notable exception, the CA still wasn't passing parameters correctly. I
conclude something happened to the first project from the start and it
started life fouled.

I found the reason for the bizarre sequencing, the sequence number of the
SetupCompleteSuccess got changed from -1 to 24. I don't remember ever
placing the CA in between it and SetupInterupted. I have no idea how that
happened, but I was using the CtrlShiftUp and Dn keys to maneuver the CA in
the User Interface sequence and at one time it was the first positive
sequence number and moved further down.
