Then, because it is a bug in the validation engine, I would assume that this
would not affect Win2K Certification, is that correct?
- Thanks again,

Not at all, Our validation is an emulation of the validation done for Win2K
logo. If you ran that validation engine you would not get this error.

Hello all,
I have reverted back to using our old stable installshield version (I.S 5.53) that has worked for us for years with no problems....until now. The problem lies on NT 40 SP6. Windows 2000 is fine.
Everything installs fine and works except for when we install our product as a service. Actually the service does work if the user reboots the machine and lets the LocalSytem account start the service. The problem comes in if the user stops the service and then wants to restart it. The user will get an error that says "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc00000022). Click on OK to terminate the application". Once you click on this the hourglass never goes away until you kill the process "rundll32.exe". The only way to start this service after this would be to reboot and get the LocalSytem account to start it again. Now as I say this has never been a problem before...the logged on user has always been able to start and stop services at will.
I know that a workaround would be to specifically go in to the 'Startup ' under services and manually give the logged on user rights to the service and everything would work as I would expect. But as we all know this is a manual step and we don't want to have to instruct every user to go in and do this.
What can I do to get this thing working like it used to and still does on Windows 2000?
