View Full Version : Distribute: is this meant to happen automatically after building a release or it is for manual use o

After building a release on a build computer, I'd like to distribute the
release to another network location for end-user access.

The Distribute view in the Developer IDE seems ideal for this.

However am I correct in thinking that the details specified in this tab for
network/FTP is saved, but does not get called automatically after a release
is made?

Therefore, to make use of the Distribute functionality, you have to manually
click the button in the IDE View after a release is done in order for the
files to get copied?

Seems a shame that this functionality can't be called automatically, or
through the Installshield COM Automation (ISWIProject) interface...

Our builds are done via scripts, not by someone going in to the IDE and
clicking on a button!

I support Alastair...and would love to know that functionality like
distributing via the automation layer is possible, or at least looked at by
IS.

Anyone know if adding the Distribute capability through the automation layer will be (or ever will be) addressed?
