Error 1607 - Really Need help, Please!

Hi,

I am using InstallShield Developer v701. I have a standard installation that runs correctly on some machines, but is generating a 1607 error on a Windows 2000 machine. I had the user execute the ISScript.msi seperately and it generated a 1926 error. The user was signed onto the Administrator account. The 1607 error does not occur for installations I created using v7.0.

What do I need to do to correct this?

Does this happen every time you run the install? Try the install after a reboot. This is probably because the Msi 2.0 engine is having a small conflict with it's delayed reboot (that's why it's not happening on 7.0).

Make a new build that does NOT delay the Msi reboot. This should fix this problem for now. This has been fixed in Developer 7.02 and will be available very soon.

Did try this after a reboot, it didn't help.

My user was able to get the install to work by creating the file c:\config.msi by hand and then running the installation. Is there any way to get the installation created using 7.01 to work or should I go back to 7.0?

Check your log, it will give more information. 1607 is an MSI internal error.
