Are there any good resources for learning IS5 Pro?
I've been assigned the task of setting up the install for our product (the
person who did the 16-bit version was "right-sized") and i find attempting
to learn this from the help file is a waste of time. (The tutorials are a
little moronic, and i prefer a book when doing the initial self teach -
can't take a computer to bed or have one in the bathroom while sitting on
the can!) .

Hi,
You can contact sales@installshield.com for a language reference.
The online help "Getting Started" should help you learn how to create a
project. Another good approach is to create a template project, then run
the script in the debugger. This way, you can see what most of the
functions do.

Been there, done that
- i've downloaded (and printed) the function reference
- i've gone through the "getting started" and done the tutorials
- read and printed the getting results help file
- seen and scanned the knowledge base (some things are pertinent/some not)
HOWEVER:
All these sources answer quite specific questions. I am still in a
situation where
I don't know the questions to ask.
SO:
I would like a pointer to something like "Learn Installshield 5 in
7days" -
where there are exercises each highlighting a different feature of IS and
gradually becoming more complex (you have to admit that the initial
tutorials don't even begin to exercise IS5s capabilities).
I know that you have two courses (Installshield and Advanced
InstallShield).
I cannot afford to take 5 days to travel to a course held in sunny CA, so
is it possible to get hold of the course materials etc (for $$$$ of
course).
