Request Java programming for working on InstallAnywhere?

Is it request a skillful of Java programming/scripting to work on InstallAnywhere? Because I need to change the installation panels(some custom actions) during the installation. Is it must perform these tasks from Java or can I use Install Script or other scripting language?
