I'm trying to figure out the best way to configure my installer project to allow for upgrades in future releases. The problem I'm having is that if I select Maintenance Mode then the new installer only gives me the options available there, for instance Uninstall Product. I've tried many combinations of Maintenance Mode and Instance Management (we want to limit to a single instance) but still can't get an upgrade to work.
The only thing that seems to allow an upgrade install is to turn off Maintenance Mode or change the Product ID string in the project description. We'd like to use Maintenance Mode for component additions and the UI for IA says the "Product ID should remain the same for all versions of this product".
Am I missing something?
